Thunderbird: Setting up IMAP emails

First make sure that you have created the email account in your Web Hosting Control Panel which would either be WebsitePanelcPanel or Plesk.

NOTE: In the instructions below you should replace domain.com with your registered domain name

  1. Open Thunderbird (you can download Thunderbird free from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/
  2. From the Tools menu select Account Settings.

  3. Click on Account Actions and select Add Mail Account
    • Your name: Enter your name
    • Email Address: Enter your full email address e.g. james@company.com
    • Password: Enter your password
    • Remember Password should be ticked
  4. Click on Continue
  5. Click on Manual Config
  6. For Incoming
    • Incoming should be selected as IMAP
    • Server Hostname should be mail.domain.com (replace domain.com with your own domain)
    • Port should be 143
    • SSL should be None
    • Authentication should be Normal Password
  7. For Outgoing
    • Server Hostname should be mail.domain.com (replace domain.com with your own domain)
    • Port should be 25
    • SSL should be None
    • Authentication should be Normal Password
